God has blessed me... Check out the new Fellowshipchurch.com

A few weeks ago, I decided to take a very quick get a way, from Texas. I surprised my dad, and his best friends Herb and Ester. I wanted to just clear my mind, and rejuvenate my soul a little. A friend of mine that I did know was not supposed to be in town was, and we had a great time. My other friend of mine, went to the same place I did in Mozambique Africa in 2002(I believe). God wanted me to hangout with these two people and my dad.

The one I was planning on hanging out with, I met and spent the night with him and his roommates Thursday night, in which we had a really good in depth talk. I learned a lot about myself through God using him. I learned threw him, that it is ok to open up and share your past, and the deepest darkest secrets need to be revealed so you do not have to live in their shadows. My friend shared with me that he was molested at age 4 and on from his own so called "friends" that were ages 10,11,12 years of age. He was so young that he really didn't even realize that it was a bad thing until he got older. As a young teenager growing up and going threw puberty, he started acting out these aggressions on any girl that he could find.

He is now in the realization stage of admitting to being a sex addict and his strong addiction to pornography that he is getting help for, and trying to gain freedom from. He is struggling to find and hold on to God as he is attending a 9 month Christian type college with the Master's Commission under James River Assembly church where my dad goes. From last September until now, this is not the same kid I hung out with over 5 months ago, he has done a complete 360' turn around. He gave me a book that changed his life and said, "Randall, I don't know you that well, but it will change your life as well, you put into it as much as want out of it." The book that was given to me is "At the altar of SEXUAL IDOLATRY by Steve Gallagher. It is slowly chipping away the hard shell I have built up around my heart. We talk probably every 3 days and encourage each other on. We both can't wait to continue on with our own roads of recovery together. We know that God has crossed each others paths as we both struggle to get freedom from this vice that binds us. Slowly, I can see shadows of the light at the end of my tunnel, I am heading toward the home stretch. ****Please pray for me and my friend JJ****

We come face-to-face with anger as often as any other feeling. And yet, anger is one of the most misunderstood and distorted of all human emotions. We all get angry, but do we really understand what anger is? Over the next few weeks, we will tackle this subject head-on to show us not only where anger originates, but how to handle it. And we will learn that when we do deal with anger God's way, it can actually help us discover a fulfilling life. taken from fc web page

A first for the Dallas Stars, time to move on

Well, this past Monday was not a typical, but a good one. At 915am I found myself answering a very strange question from a guy I don't even know. To make a long story short, some guy gave me 2 free tickets to go see the Stars hockey game. It was a very nice gesture. I was trying to figure out who I was going to take, and if finally came to mind. So, one of my friends who I work with at Blue Mesa is an avid hockey lover. So nick and I were off to getting on the 413pm train to downtown Dallas. We had a great steak dinner in the West End district and jumped back on the train to the front door of AA center for 7pm drop of the puck. The game was really cool, and lots of fun and with a great win of 4 to 2, I would have to say that was the best first time to the stars on ice.

When you know it is time to say goodbye, you just know. I am slowly trying to break off from a friendship that I just don't need to be in anymore. It is really hard, because I feel like I am breaking up with someone. It is sad that we can't continue on, but the negativity is just so overwhelming to me, and I know I can and will move on to something much better.

Ready for Chapter 3...You bet I am

My life has had some ups and certainly downs, but right now I am on to a good change for my life. For the first chapter, was my childhood growing up in a small Lutheran/catholic background until age 9, then changing to the Baptist faith from age 10 to the thanksgiving/Christmas of 98. Then began my chapter 2 journey of my new found faith and dealing with the passing of my mom. Now Feb. of 2006, I am looking at life with new eyes for a great start to a new chapter of my life. This weekend was an exceptional life changing event for me. God met me at church, but this weekend I was ready for Him. I have been looking at my life, and wondering when God was going to begin knocking at my door, these last 4 months, I have realized that I have not been wanting to answer, and my life needs to go on, but with Him apart of it in a fresh way.

This weekend was a mystery guest speaker, no one knew/ or could not say who was speaking. It was the new and improved Laura Strickland, who has done a complete life make-over with a detailed weight loss transformation. The service opener' for this message was the stage lighting up on fire, with a very loud roar of music for about 30 seconds, and then Laura appeared and talked about the bible story of the fiery furnace. The service got out early, and I decided to take a friend up on his offer, and went and checked out a new church called "The Met", pretty much like FC, but just smaller like 19,000 smaller. It was definitely what God had for me. I loved it

Are you Fire Proof ?? Matt Revell turns 25ish?

From its ability to annihilate to its potential to purify, fire fascinates us. It can even attract us . But the flames we experience in life often hold us at bay. This weekend, God will show us how He wants to use those flames, not to hinder your growth, but to help you discover the most out of life. taken from fc web page

This weekend I will be going to a FC social, a birthday party at Cool River Cafe, for a friend of mine from FC, and Omaha that I met here 3 years ago. I am kind of nervous, cause I have not hung with FC people for over a year and half. What will I say?, What will we do?, Do I share my new freedom with Matt?. We will just have to wait and see. Tonight I have been on the phone a lot, I just got off the phone with my GM, who wants to sit and talk, "cause no one listens like you do Randall." She has told me that she has tried to talk to her friends, and family and no one really cares, she knows I do. You have to talk, I can listen.

State of my life in 2006 address.

Yes, the presidents speech was kind of funny, but somewhat unrealistic. I however will me giving my own speech, and it goes something like this. This year the word I am going to be really trying to instill in my life, my families and my friends will be-RESPECT.

Main Entry: 1re·spect Pronunciation: ri-'spektFunction: nounEtymology: Middle English, from Latin respectus, literally, act of looking back, from respicere to look back, regard, from re- + specere to look -- more at SPY1 : a relation or reference to a particular thing or situation 2 : an act of giving particular attention : CONSIDERATION3 a : high or special regard : ESTEEM b : the quality or state of being esteemed c plural : expressions of respect or deference 4 : PARTICULAR, DETAIL - in respect of chiefly British : with respect to : CONCERNING- in respect to : with respect to : CONCERNING- with respect to : with reference to : in relation to

Why is it so hard for people to not respect people's wishes, why do people continue to push other people's buttons. They push, test your patience and don't give a crap about your opinion. I this year will be trying to lead by example and respect you and myself. This is going to be my year. I am not messing around any longer. If I lose everything, than I will just have to rely on God, because right now, that is all I have. The so called friends that I thought I had are gone, my life is empty, I choose not to go out, but to remain inward. My depression has left me numb to this earth. God is slowly showing me that He is all I need. Any other extra bonuses, or asset's is a gift, and for right now, I am ok with that. Friends have left me high and dry. Omaha friends that I thought would come and visit, have not. Ones I am waiting for, I will not continue to hold my breath. Im starting 2006 with a clean slate to my life. I am not begging for anybody's friendship. I don't expect contact to continue however I wish it would, but at least the thought that I am still alive, and somewhat healthy is still ok. I will be waiting with open arms to my friends to acknowledge that is what we are. Otherwise my life will continue somewhat saddened that I can not give into a relationship any longer, I have finally realized that the most important relationship I have over looked for many years, and the one I cant wait to daily meet is with my creator- the one true relationship that will last, make me happy, continue to restore my faith, and promise me hope.
No, I am not upset with anybody, asking for cards, emails, flowers, or any pity party, Im just going on with my life, now more aware that a sleepy giant has been finally awoke, and breathing a great sigh of relief that will only benefit me and the people who choose to be around me. That sleepy giant has been me.

Good News for the DALKE'S

Just wanted to share the good news, that I have been passed on. Prayers still need to be flowing in the Dalke direction!!!

Hello Friends,
I wanted to keep you updated with the happenings of Kevin & Jen. First of all, I can't remember my last note to you so some of this might be a repeat... Secondly, thank you for your prayers these last few months have been tough for all of us but the Dalke's are doing great. So many people have been so generous and helpful. The town of Lewis held a fund-raiser supper and many people from the community came out for that. It's was wonderful to see all the support from friends and strangers. Many people have given to their relief fund set up at the local bank. And many, many car loads of donations have been appreciated.
They moved into a big ranch style house December 1st. The insurance will pay rent for up to a year. The house belongs to friends from church. It's been a nice vacation for the Kev & Jen not to spend every free moment working on the house. The girls are doing great. They still have some fears but that is so normal. Everyday in December was like Christmas in their house with all the gifts. The girls were definitely spoiled. Things have settled down in January. They want to find some normality in this chaotic time.
They have settled with the insurance over the house and now are working on itemizing their belongings... which will take them awhile. They have purchased a house and have contracted it to move it to their land. This house is another "fix it up"er but they are trying to be smarter and wiser the second time around. I haven't seen the new house yet. Hopefully, this weekend as Dalia (their youngest) turns 5. She is hoping for a kitten... not for sure if it will happen.
Thanks for all you have done to help them... to see them taken care of has done by heart good.
Love you all, Di

Not about me, but you...

The week has come and gone, and boy am I tired. In a nut shell, it goes something like this. Worked Mon, Tues, at FC the past two nights. Helped out at C3 all day and night Wed. & Thur morning. A couch repair man fixed my couches at noon, Karla took me out to lunch at 1pm, jumped in the car for an 7 hour drive to Branson, arrived at my friend JJ's place at 10:15pm, talked with him & the roomies till 1am, all of us up at 7:30. They left to go to college, and I drove another 30 minutes to my dads, and have been on the run all day long.

The C3 was very good, Ed was incredible and the opener of the conference was another show-stopper"Lets Get it Started" by the Black Eyed Peas crazy performance.

It has been a long road, and very hilly, bumpy, and windy way to realize it can't be about me anymore, but you. A great best friend has been trying to get me to understand that when God wants you to focus on Him, He will strip all other idiols, and friendships away. I have been long awaiting the day where I have finally understood that the only true relationship/friendship is with our creator.

The question that I have been asking myself for awhile is from this most recent series, pronouns. "What would you have not done, if they had not influenced you to do, if they had not been around?"(short form) Everybody has friends that influence you, some good, some bad, and some you just don't understand. God has brought me out of my comfort zone from Omaha, through Vegas, to Dallas to throw me on my back, so the angle I can visualize is only towards Him. Dad has been going through the exact same journey with God and me trying to show him that him and his wife need to be at James River Assmbly. They have been thrown around like little rag dolls, until God said, "this is where you belong, not here, not doing this, not involved with these people, but HERE." Is it not really ironic that we both realized our need to believe in the one who knows best, all with in the last 2 months.
Strange, no I dont think so, God-yea I think so.

Maybe Moving???

Debating on a change is always a long, exhaustive, process that always ways on your mind. This one however I might have to do, and my say in the matter more than likely will not count. How is it far to be voted the only person in the mix, that really has no reason to move, but forced because the only likely choice is you?. Trying to figure it if life is fair right now doesn't seem logical, but wondering if I want to start over in a town, that I have already been in might be a unfair answer on me.

I moved to DFW for one reason, and that reason is a great opportunity to be involved in a church that is young, vibrant, and souls are going places. I live each day to be involved at FC, and when the weekend comes, I cant wait to see what God has in store for me with one of the best hours of my week. This week is our "Creative Church Conference"- C3 and I will be at the church Monday night, Tuesday night, all day Wednesday, and Thursday, and then off on a little short vacation to Branson to discuss my future with my father.

Well, this weekend was a light show worship extravaganza like I have not seen in a long time at FC. The pronouns this weekend were They, you, and we.

What is America coming to???

Thursday, January 19 will always be a cold, chilling reminder of how cruel and insensitive some beings could be that would call themselves human. A lady walked into the women's bathroom next to my old store in the DFW INTL. Airport-terminal C-30. Preparing to use one of the many bathroom stalls, this poor lady discovered a tiny human leg sticking out of the bottom of the toilet bowl. After, 4 days of the whole restroom being closed, many interviewed by the FBI, and a dismantle of the toilet, the suspicions were confirmed. What would posse a women that had a 5 month miscarriage, literally in the toilet, and try to flush a human life down the toilet. What in the hell is going on with America? You have to be kidding me, that this random act of senseless action that this women did, would allow herself to get on a flight and leave DFW airport with part of her missing, and continue on with her life? God have mercy on that women's soul. Please Lord have mercy on that womens soul....

Just need to talk??

We have been going through a really tough time at work with the owners of the restaurant. They want to do and be everything including the owners. It really gets old, considering all they do is bitch and moan, and never thank you for anything at any time. I decided to have a little chat with my two managers at separate occasions. Here is what I found out, they talked, talked, and talked some more. My GM thanked me and said you now what, no one has ever asked me how I am doing, listened, did not interrupt or have a hidden agenda. Not my kids, not my first husband, and certainly not my current boyfriend, thank you randall, you really do care.

So then, I thought I would try and reverse the same thing that I just did. I called up my best friend who I trust with any amount of info that I spout to him. After a hour and half, he asked me if I wanted his opinion, shared, cried, told me he loved me, and said, "Randall, keep reaching for the one true relationship that will only satisfy people-randall it is the current one you have with Jesus, everybody else-including me let go of.

Trying to let go, and just hang on to the one who continues to give me breath daily,

Randall

Coldplay visits FC

This weekend was really good at church. Ed spoke on the "Pronoun-They", and how you should examine the "theys" in your life. For the good, bad, and why you allow people to influence you in the way you do, and how God can replace the "bad they's" with good ones. The last song of the service was by a very popular group, Coldplay and the song was entitled "Fix You".

Time for me?? Sit in the pit for church??

As God keeps allowing me to wake each morning, I am more drawn to the fact that it is truly a blessing. Being able to live my life, where I do, how I do it, and with the gift of life to keeping sharing it along this journey. I am slowly realizing that you have to take time for you, and continue to take time for God. This week has been a crazy time at work, I have had some real freaks come into my store. I cant wait for this weekend for the playoffs, the football games should be awesome. After a little bit of break from hanging so tight with my friends, I am hoping we will be able to hang this weekend.

Last weekend after church, I spent 4 fun filled hours at Ikea, and I am just waiting for tax time, and I will be able to finish decorating my apartment like I want. FC's stage design team again went out of there way for this series. We have a "sit in the pit" section, like you see on the MTV music awards, Vh1 Awards, and the Oscars. Pictures will be coming soon.

Behind the Curtain..Family news..My friends new 2006 web page...C3 time?

I just wanted to take this time to welcome you to my best friends amazing web page. Check out his nonprofits, or view his complete profile, and a paragraph on his really cool church.
love ya miss hammer head

These last few days have been amazing, like 75' amazing. Today is my day off, and I am doing the usual. I have begun the process of looking for 2 more new jobs, and it really does suck. I have to wait at least till Feb 1st, and then my girl will hire me on at On the Border, she just needs to know what store she will be sent to.

Fellowship church is gearing up for the annual Creative Church Conference, (aka C3). I have and will be volunteering for the 3rd straight year in a row, it is for me a great opportunity to really see the nuts and bolts of how this great church body works. This year, I am also excited because they have changed things up a little with all new speakers, schedule of days and lots more. Looking forward to hearing Bill Hybels from Willow Creek and TD Jakes from the Potters house.

444Fellowshipchurch.com Exclusive-worship team member Matt Murph discusses a typical Saturday right before show time. check it out here.

Since the beginning of the year started, I have been really taking a lot of time for myself, I worked 3 jobs for a whole year, with a couple breaks in between, and it was rough, but I am ready to do it again.

****Family news, Dad is no longer in full retirement mood. He is a financial advisor, backer and part owner of a couple of furniture stores in Branson Missouri. If you are ever in the branson area, you can check them out. Also, if you are stuck in your hotel room and you find yourself watching "Branson Tv" you can see the whole WFO-Fine Furniture outlet gang on TV. The little catchy jingle is my dad's wife singing, and yes you can see my father in the commercial. My sister Victoria my sister in MPLS, bless her heart had a little run in with Skippy, moms, and then my old car, she hit ice, and then comes the pole in the lot, she's is ok, but the car is a little hurt. Debra, Rob, and girls are still in Kenosha and doing good, Rob is in Italy for two weeks. Jim and Becky have moved to Iowa, so if you are reading this. CALL YOUR BROTHER. ****

That is all for now, have a great start to the year. Peace, faith, hope, and love Randall

Fellowship Christmas Pictures....New arrivals... a friend needs prayer...

Fellowship Church held 21 Christmas services, and 11 of them at the main Grapevine campus. Here are our some great pictures. Check them out here. I forget to mention one thing, (notice this was the first one out on the market), a brand new 2006 plasma HD Liquid Jumbotron screen. That is what I was passed on. Thousands of souls made life changing decisions for Christ for the very first time. This was the most low key, down to earth Christmas service that I have attended since I have been here. This was pretty much a regular weekend worship service, except for the flying angels and wise men, otherwise those pictures you see, that is a normal FC weekend worship service. Scroll down and check out more pics over the last few years.

I would like to take this time to welcome new arrivals for Steve & Heidi VanVoorst, and Joseph and Jen Carlson on their new little bundles of joy. Bring on the extra diapers. Have fun!!!!

Well, a bunch of my friends from my graduating class got together this past week for a little lunch time gossip session. It was brought to my attention that one of my class mates Kerri Jacobsen is not doing good with her health and she needs lots of prayer along with her family. I personally know what she is going through only because my mom had lots of the same problems, and it really does suck. My heart aches, and my prayers go out to you Kerri. Next time I am in town, we all will have to go out for lunch.

This weekend was the first installment of the new series in which Ed brings definition to something that many of us rarely consider-pronouns. This week remember that countless numbers of circumstances, situations and people are vying for our attention and interest. But there is only one voice of truth. taken from FC-worship guide

Two New Orleans Couples...State wide burn ban...Pro-noun series

I just want to give a shout out to the 2 New Orleans couples that stopped by the Blue Mesa and are now basking in the warm Mexico sun. These people were an awesome group to wait on, and definitely are having a great time. Oh yea they also have kids in high school and love to go to Amsterdam and admit it. Here is your props, and also good luck to the Dr. I hope you get your practice back soon, since the hurricane wiped you out.

Texas and Oklahoma are in State wide burn bans. If anybody needs to be doing some rain dances, start dancing.

This weekend will be the first series of the new year, Ed Young will examine how even the smallest parts of speech can impact the biggest areas of our lives. See you this weekend at FC.

Texas Celebrates...While Dallas hesitates???

HOOK'EM HORNS!!! CONGRATS TO UT-AUSTIN LONGHORNS for a hard fight, and an awesome win over USC. The place went crazy, people standing on tables, chairs, high-fiving everybody. BW's along with the whole state of Texas went nuts at the end of the game.

It is official, Dallas is now on the map and a little scared, but they are ready. Dallas Swat premiered this evening on AE TV. It was very cool, and awesome to see the action so close to home.
*****Happy early Birthday to Randall Czech which is leaving for Germany for two fun filled weeks. His birthday is actually Jan 8*****

No more bull... Helping out a friend...

Good evening to all of my friends and family. I hope you had a great start of the new year. Mine has been yet eventful. I have decided that 2006 is going to be my year, to shed some pounds, maybe some friends, and most importantly some stress. I have already begun that process. I have quit two of my jobs, and I am down to just one, which is still at DFW INTL TERMINAL D-31. I have decided that if things are not going the way, I see, then maybe God will have to lead me some other direction. This year I am not putting up with any bull****, if anybody wants to, get ready, cause I will be throwing it right back. So as you view my online calendar of activities, and you don't see my work schedule up, or it has changed in the last 24 hours, it's because it has.

My heart was pierced by God poking at it, saying you really need to help out some friends. So I did, you know who you are, and I hope you get my package soon. Love you both. randall

Congrats Huskers... 2005-out/in 2006...FC best 5..CLR-where?

Welcome to a new year, and my new site. I have taken a break, and boy have I needed one. I have spent a lot of time reflecting, thinking, hanging with the parents, and preparing my mind and soul for 2006. This new years eve, was pretty low key, I had to work at My Martini till 11pm, and I then waited for Afif, Nick and Jen to come over and we hung till the wee hours of the morning. Oh yea, I woke up with no hangover, also!!!. Kicking the year off right.

Congrats Nebraska Huskers on the big Alamo Bowl Win!!

I want to wish one of my best friends for a very long time a very Happy Birthday to Cheryl Reineke, who I love to death, and can't believe your that old. Have a great day!!!

The parents came down on Monday to Thursday, and we had a fun time, hanging out and getting to know each other better. Fellowship Church did the best 5 messages of 2005 in grand fashion. This church just rocks.

***This post is dedicated to Cheryl and TRISH the dish FERRYMAN- you did a good job raising me, and I am glad we are family. Love you, miss you, and thanks for the emails. Hugs & kisses

Merry Christmas and have a Safe New Year-2006

It has been a long week, and this weekend was filled with excitement. I have been able to hang out with my new family Afif, and a great couple Nick and Jen. We all got to experience two fun filled nights together like no other. The first Christmas service of FC and of course they loved it. Second, we spent Christmas Eve afternoon, and all evening together, laughing, joking, asking questions, running around town, wrapping presents, and getting to know a little of each ones lives growing up.

FC put on a total of 21 Christmas services, 11 just at the main Grapevine campus where I go. I was able to see the show 3 times, and I brought a total of 12 friends, for the very first time to Fellowship. I could move right now out of Dallas, and head to my next location, (which is a secret) but I am going to stick around for little bit longer to continue one great ride.
A ride that I have had the opportunity to allow God to work through me and others so far here at the greatest thing going for the local church-Fellowshipchurch.com.
Log on to "WATCH" just a glimpse of the Fellowship Christmas experience. ALSO A CHRISTMAS DEVOTIONAL to read, your greatest 30 minutes is only a click a way.

iii Please note my web page will be going through "reconstruction". I hope your looking forward to meeting me back here soon in 2006.333

Omaha megachurch gets new pastor

BY ANGIE BRUNKOW

WORLD-HERALD STAFF WRITER
A pastor from one of the most prominent megachurches in the country has accepted an invitation to serve as senior pastor at Omaha's Christ Community Church.
Mark Ashton, who has served at Chicago's Willow Creek Community Church for the past six years, will take the helm at Christ Community once he wraps up his commitments in Chicago. Christ Community leaders expect he will be in Omaha by this spring, possibly earlier.
The hiring brings an end to a round of major leadership changes at Omaha's megachurches. Westside Church, at 156th and West Dodge Road, picked a new senior pastor two years ago. Salem Baptist, near 31st and Lake Streets, picked one this past summer.
Christ Community has been without a senior pastor for more than a year.
The Rev. Bob Thune, who had been senior pastor for 22 years, announced in July 2004 that he was leaving Christ Community to become senior pastor at Southwest Community Church in Indian Wells, Calif.
Ashton, 38, may be a bit of an unusual pick to replace the senior pastor at a church this size because he doesn't have a formal seminary background. The Chicago native graduated from the University of Illinois with bachelor's degrees in economics and marketing and has done some graduate study in apologetics.
But his on-the-job experience impressed leaders at Christ Community, a church that draws roughly 3,000 to its weekend worship services and is located along Interstate 680 south of West Dodge Road.
"He's a next-generation leader," said Roger Atwood, one of the church elders. "We recognize his commitment to present the church in relevant, helpful ways, which is what Christ Community has been about throughout our history."
At Willow Creek, Ashton worked as pastor of spiritual discovery and as the associate evangelism director. As part of the job, he developed and taught "The Biggies" series, a forum that invites nonbelievers and believers alike to ask the big questions.
Before that, he served a number of years as a staff member of the InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, working with student groups at the University of Illinois and speaking at many Midwest colleges.
Ashton, who is married and has four children, has published a number of Bible studies and booklets about Jesus and the evidence for Christianity, including one called "Absolute Truth?"
He has earned credentials to serve as a minister in the Christian & Missionary Alliance, the denomination that Christ Community belongs to.
Ashton emerged as a strong candidate during the past six weeks. He and his wife, Kelle, visited Omaha last weekend, and Ashton preached at four services before heading back to Chicago.
In its search, the church developed a profile for senior pastor. They wanted someone who placed a high value on people and relationships and who would lead the church in interacting with the community and continuing existing partnerships, such as the church effort to support Omaha's public school teachers.
The search committee shared the profile with Ashton.
"Right away he looked down through it and he said, 'That's me; that's my life,'" said Randy Hager, Christ Community's spokesman. "There wasn't anything that didn't match."

the Fellowshipchurch.com story continues...

FC Today
FC offers a wide range of activities and ministries for all stages of life. FC's "Home Team" ministry, modeled after the popular cell group system, allows newcomers to meet individuals with similar interests and geographic locations, which would not be otherwise possible due to its size.
FC operates a bookstore and coffee bar (The Source), which features mainly FC-logo merchandise and Ed Young's sermons and books.
One of the unique features of FC's facility is its outdoor baptistry. (FC does not have an indoor baptistry, a common feature in church architecture among churches which practice baptism by immersion; whenever FC does perform a baptism indoors it uses portable jacuzzis on either side of the stage.) Built like an amphitheater, it is located within a lake on the Grapevine campus (the lake serves as a flood control pond for the property). However, it is physically separated from the lake (to keep whatever may be swimming in the lake out), and is heated similar to a jacuzzi. Notwithstanding that Texas weather is notoriously fickle and at times violent, only on a handful of rare instances have scheduled baptisms been cancelled due to inclement weather. Another fountain on the campus (closer to the building) was the initial outdoor baptistry, and is used most often during winter months to allow individuals to more quickly enter the building after being baptized.
FC meets four times each weekend at the Grapevine campus: at 5:00 PM and 6:30 PM on Saturday evenings and at 9:30 AM and 11:15 AM on Sunday mornings. The three satellite campuses meet on Sundays only, at 10:00 AM and 11:30 AM at the Plano and Uptown campuses and at 9:30 AM and 11:15 AM at the Alliance Campus. In addition, FC Grapevine hosts a monthly mid-week service, Emergent Service, which meets on the first Wednesday of each month (the satellite locations do not have mid-week services). Special "age appropriate" services are held for preschoolers and children through 5th grade.
FC's Christmas and Easter services are among the area's most popular, and in order to accommodate the large crowds nearly a dozen different services are held over a 3-4 day period. In 2004, FC was able to rent the American Airlines Center for its Christmas services due to the NHL lockout which made the facility available; however, for 2005 it reverted to having multiple services at its campuses (11 at the Grapevine campus, five at Plano, three at Alliance, and two at Uptown). In December 2005, Associated Press reported that Fellowship was one of several American megachurches that would not be holding services on Christmas Day, which in 2005 falls on a Sunday. At least one D/FW area talk show host (Mike Gallagher on KRLD) criticized Fellowship's decision not to hold services that day.

Fellowshipchurch.com Our Story-unfolded

Fellowship Church
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
Jump to: navigation, search
Fellowship Church (FC) is a Christian megachurch located in Grapevine, Texas, part of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. FC is purportedly one of the largest and fastest-growing churches in the United States, with an estimated attendance exceeding 20,000. FC's pastor is Ed Young (the son of the equally-famous pastor of Second Baptist Church in Houston), who has pastored the church since shortly after its opening.
FC is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention. However, since it is part of the "seeker church" movement as well, it does not publicize its ties with the SBC and is not actively involved in SBC affairs.

History
FC started in 1989 as a mission church of the First Baptist Church of Irving, Texas, and was initially known as "Las Colinas Baptist Church". Approximately 150 members of First Baptist Irving relocated to the new church. FC initially met in a rented facility next to the Irving Arts Center and across from MacArthur High School, both of which would figure in its history.
Shortly after its opening, the membership hired Ed Young as its Senior Pastor. Young quickly convinced the church to adopt the "seeker church" style made popular by Bill Hybels and Willow Creek Community Church. One of the church's first actions was to de-emphasize its ties with the Southern Baptist Convention and change its name to "Fellowship of Las Colinas". Another move was to use contemporary music during the services, and to offer services on Saturday evenings. Most notably, FC adopted the concept of "age appropriate" teaching--children 5th grade and under are provided separate services at their level of maturity, and parents are encouraged (but not required) to send their children to those services. (FC purports that several families, after initially being hesitant to return to FC--mainly due to its size and non-traditional approach to church--did so after finding out their children loved the activities.)
The strategy proved highly successful, and FC quickly outgrew its original facility. Thus, it moved across the parking lot to the nearby Irving Arts Center. During this time, FC tried the concept of "simultaneous services"--one group would meet at FC's facility while another would meet at the Arts Center. The FC music team would play at one site while Young preached at the other, then midway through the services the teams would switch places. The concept proved unsuccessful and was quickly dropped, but continues in "FC lore" as from time to time Young mentions it in his sermons as an example of how FC is willing to try new ideas in order to reach people.
Meanwhile, FC began to look for a suitable site for its permanent facility. FC discovered a 160-acre site on Texas State Highway 121 north of Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, which was being auctioned by the Resolution Trust Corporation. FC submitted a bid and was the successful bidder; however, it had to quickly borrow $1.675 million to make the payment. Approximately two years later, the announcement was made that Grapevine Mills Mall would be built literally across the street from FC. Unsolicited offers came in for portions of the FC property, and eventually FC sold a 23-acre parcel on the north side of the property for the exact amount it had borrowed earlier, thus allowing it to begin construction debt-free.
Meanwhile, FC outgrew the Irving Arts Center before its permanent facility was complete. It thus moved across the street to MacArthur High School. (As part of the lease agreement, FC agreed to install an upgraded sound system in MacArthur's auditorium.) In order to maintain the "age-appropriate" services for preschoolers and children, this required an enormous logistical feat each weekend--volunteers would have to unload several trucks early on Saturday morning (the building was unavailable until then), install temporary partitions and furniture in several areas, then after the final Sunday service tear down and reload all the items onto the trucks, and make the school building ready for use on Monday morning.
In April 1998, FC finally completed and moved to its current facility and adopted its present name. Young's father and Hybels spoke at the dedication service.

Funny Joke, bad timing...So I think?? Ed+U2=??? Four news station at FC

Well, my friends (not all of them) really don't have all there bulbs screwed in real tightly. I had probably one of the worst jokes played on me this Saturday night. I will not name any names, but two out of the 3 thought it would be funny to play a joke on me. The joke went something like this. They called me and told me one of my friends was in jail, and asked me if I could go bail them out. Of course me being the nice best friend that I am to these two people, I immediately jumped off on one freeway and headed on another to downtown Dallas. Long stupid joke and story later, they called laughing, and they just wanted me to come over really bad to hangout. I had already made plans, and really was not in the mood to be messed with, especially to that extreme.

Fellowship never ceases to amaze me, this weekend services were really good, and Tianne Moon did an awesome job taking us through a journey into the GREAT UNKNOWN with the life of Mary, the mother of Jesus. Ed + U2 = Fellowship worship experience is like no other. Derrick Bennot of the student ministries of FC and his band lead worship, and he and Erik Orsen rocked out the crowd with the special before the message "original of Species" by Ed's favorite secular rock band U2.

We had all 4 news stations at the last service this weekend taping, and doing a cover story about mega churches not being open on Christmas Day. The church keeps reminding themselves, and others they are doing 21 Christmas services, 11 just at the main campus in Grapevine.

Crowds go crazy to see Bono. The Great Unknown..??

People went nuts to see and hear Bono. He was in the Big O' for two days, and here is another good reason as to why he stayed for the 2nd day, and what we can learn and do is this subject for doing good in our humanity in this journey we call life.

Review: U2 rocks Omaha with atomic force
One night in Omaha wasn't enough for U2 frontman Bono.

A day after U2's concert, Bono was still in Omaha, attending a board meeting for DATA (Debt, Aids, Trade, Africa) at the Joslyn Art Museum. With Bono, from left, are Erin Thornton, Doug Varley and Susan Buffett.
Following the band's sold-out Thursday night concert at the Qwest Center Omaha, Bono remained in town Friday to meet with board members of DATA, the group he co-founded in 2002 to raise awareness about and spark responses to the crises plaguing Africa.
Omahan Susan A. Buffett, daughter of Omaha investor Warren Buffett, serves on the board of DATA, an acronym for Debt, AIDS, Trade, Africa. The Buffetts and Bono have become close in recent years as they've worked for similar causes.
Bono, Susan Buffett and her brother, Howard Buffett, were among about 16 people who met Friday in the Omaha Steaks Conference Room at Joslyn Art Museum, 2200 Dodge St.
Bono, wearing his signature tinted glasses, scrawled notes on a white legal pad as the board huddled at a table decorated with red poinsettias. Extra security guards hovered outside the boardroom door and museum.
"We were thrilled to have Bono there," said Michael Yanney, chairman of Joslyn's board of directors.
During Thursday night's concert, Bono foreshadowed the meeting.
While soliciting support from the crowd for the ONE Campaign to combat global AIDS and poverty, Bono said he was taking part in a Christmas party Friday in Omaha.
Also during the show, he dedicated "Original of the Species" to Susan T. Buffett, the late wife of Warren Buffett.
Bono is one of the celebrities who helped launch the ONE Campaign. He also visited Lincoln in 2002 to raise awareness of the African AIDS epidemic.
The rock singer was in Omaha in August 2004 to sing at the elder Susan Buffett's funeral. Bono also thanks her in the liner notes of the 2004 CD, "How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb."
According to the DATA Web site, the board of directors also includes David Lane of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation; Jamie Drummond of DATA; Morton H. Halperin of the Open Society Institute; Ned Jannotta of GTCR Golder Rauner, LLC; Richard Kiphart of William Blair & Co; Trevor Neilson of the Global Business Coalition on HIV/AIDS; Edward W. Scott Jr. of the Center for Global Development; Bobby S. Shriver, DATA chairman; and Amre A. Youness, private investor.
World-Herald photographer James R. Burnett contributed to this report.

In life, no one knows what's just around the corner. We all face the unknown. But we're not the only ones. As we look forward to Christmas and this weekend, Fellowship will take a unique look into the life of Mary, Jesus' mother. And we will discover her responses to the uncertainties of life, we will see some powerful ways we can respond to our own GREAT UNKNOWN.

Hey OMAHA, want to invest in lives????

Today, I am in the middle of my mourning, and also loving my life. I always got encouraged by my mom, and God has blessed with a great friendship realm. Sometimes, I just sit and laugh at the friends who God has put in my life. The one that probably gives me the biggest chuckle is my best friend Matthew Smith. He is the Executive Director of a non profit organization. He is one of my closest attempts to see, feel, hear, and get great encouragement from a walking Jesus, (other than my dad) here on this journey we call life. We have been through a lot together ever since 94' when we hit it off, and time has continued to keep us bonded together. His faith, hope, and love for his friends and the community of Omaha has and will remain strong. He sacrificially gives all he has to pouring out his heart to the less fortunate of the Omaha community in this small way of showing them Jesus.
Here is a great way that you can support, encourage, and give through your time, talents, and resources. Mosaic Community Development is a nonprofit organization that helps out in the community with a "Creative Educational Center", serving food to the less fortunate "Life on the Brick", teaching "English as a Second Language", and encouraging people going through "Life Transitions."

444Volunteer Spotlight
Thanks! from Matthew Smith ED
As our name indicates, we are a ‘mosaic’ of people who selflessly and generously give of their time and resources to serve and be amongst the poor and disenfranchised of our city. This month we wish to highlight our volunteers as a whole instead of one individual. We do this to recognize the significance of each piece as it composes a whole mosaic movement that touches lives. At the heart of MCD is a desire to be with those who are forgotten by society and demonstrate the love of Christ in a relational capacity. All of our volunteers are committed not only to providing a useful service that benefits the community, but more importantly they take time to value those they encounter in service. Our mosaic of volunteers loves to hear stories of those served and share their own. It is in this effort to be with those who are suffering that we serve in the most significant ways.

Happy birthday MOM

This is the 3 days of the year that I dread...
My heart is saddened of the past events...
Time has not been on the side of letting her go...
People change, people forget, people get re-married...
I try and let my mind think to the past...
I am filled with emotion....
I begin to cry... I will never forget my mom...
I wake up to this day with my dad in my ear...
I am relieved he is still here on earth...
I am ok wishing my mom a very Happy 68th Birthday...
as she is spending her day with Jesus, and her parents in Heaven.

My life will go on, I will still remember the joy she brought to alot of people...

Not Home Alone-ready to party??

Well, I got home from work on Sunday night for the second week in a row, where we did not have one table come in for dinner at My Martini. I left at 9pm, and was talking to a friend on the phone, and I was like, "Oh my god Cheryl there is someone in my house". Of course, I unlock the door, and the first thing I see is bellows of incense smoke, tons of empty be-vo bottles on the floor, and 3 sets of very surprised eyeballs staring at me.
Well, Afif and Jen left my place about an hour after I left for work, Jen picked her man Nick and decided they wanted to hang more and called up Afif, and he said, " I am driving by Randall's house", and Jen said, "so am I, let's just hangout there and wait for him at his place." Good times had by all, and Afif and we finally got to meet this hockey player stud that Jen just adores and always talks about. So here is my question, Why are hockey players so big, this guy was huge, and I watched my p's and q's, cause he would squash me like a bug.

Simply put, Let me clear some rumors...Got Land??

This weekend Ed, was there in form, but not person. The Billy Graham Foundation taped Ed and staff for a couple of days and will be putting it on prime time television this January. The church is really looking forward to this , since it will give us more exposure. This weekend, was really low key, and the castle themed set was taken down, and you could tell they were getting ready for the big Christmas Extravaganza.Fellowship Church.com, and will be on prime time news in January, I will let you know when. The weekend worship was good, but a very slowed down, somber approach, and the message was a small excerpt of part of that video. The church was really excited, because it will give a lot of exposure to FC on national television.

I am getting ready to revise my whole web page, and add some new stuff, take out some old, and just plain revamp. Well, the reason why none of my FC bloggers have been updating is because some big wig put the kabosh on that. They can blog personally, but I guess too much info got out and they can not blog on a business stand point any longer. Last weekend, Ed had two big announcements, someone invited him to a board meeting to sit in on, as the meeting started, it was really a surprise, and someone anoymonoushly gave us 1,400 acres of prime land in east Texas, and we will be building a conference center, and camps for our kids. Also, we finally found a permanent building for the Uptown Campus, in North downtown Dallas for $8 million, for only 40,000 sq feet. Personally, I think it is too small, but we will have to wait and see.

Fellowship Church has snapped up a 44,300-square-foot office building on 2.1 acres in the Arts District for its new urban campus. The church paid Levco Enterprises $4.3 million for the property at 2809 Ross Ave., near Boll Street on the eastern edge of downtown Dallas.
The new satellite location will seat 1,300 and include 20,000 square feet of children's programming space, a bookstore and coffee shop with street access. Dallas-based Beck Group has been tapped to design the interiors. Susan Gwin with The Staubach Co. and Damian Rivera with Capstone Commercial put the deal together.
With attendance topping 20,000 in Grapevine, the church made a decision last year to expand into other parts of the Metroplex. It opened a 110,000-square-foot campus in Plano in January, as well as a temporary location at North Dallas High School in Uptown. In March, it opened a third satellite at Alliance in Fort Worth.
The campus locations operate as fully functioning churches with their own staffs, bands and programming. Sermons by senior pastor Ed Young are filmed on Saturday nights at the Grapevine campus and shown on theater-sized screens on Sunday mornings at the satellite locations.
Terry Storch, pastor of Fellowship's Uptown campus, said the Arts District location made a lot of sense.
"We are a creative church inspired by the arts," he said.

Your in the people industry...

Yea, I know but it sure does suck sometimes. Today was a very hard day, everybody was like trying to give me advice, and I was not asking for it. This Spanish man was having a really bad day, and was just not letting anybody know it, but me. He walked in, greeted him, I read the drink menu, let him know he could stay at the bar, or go to the counter, and where he could even eat it. So, at the end of his miserable attempt to eat, drink, and be merry, I just kept on pissing him off. He said to me, "You know you are not a very nice person, and I told him I wanted to know what I did wrong, and he said, " you are just not a happy person" I did let him know I was in a great mood, and the other guest at my bar, told him to leave me alone, and then he decided to leave.

Christmas Day/New Years Day-church or no church?? 3 miles + 2 1/2hours= stress

Well, today if my car was a padded rubber room car, I would of fit right in. I work and live just 3 miles from both jobs, (today DFW). I left work at 355pm and got home at 630pm. I got rear-ended not 5, not 6, no not even 7 times, but the magic number ladies and gentlemen for today is 8. YES, you read right, eight times, I got bumped in the butt.

(Right now I am laughing, why do I do this to myself, but I guess, in the end, I don't mind a good laugh on me). shane don't even
One guy kept on bumping me 5 times, and by the 5th bump, I got out of my car, and went and kindly asked him, "are you trying to get my attention or what," he had no clue what I was talking about, so I asked him, if he could start using his breaks, cause "you have bumped into my car 5 times", and he said, "I sure didn't know I did that". So I switched lanes, and of course someone else decided to be a dumba**, and bump me 3 other times. By this time, I was literally coming unglued-LITERALLY. I finally realized that I was sliding as well, and this nice red mustang let me use his bumper to stop with, and all that took 2 1/2 hours to drive 3 miles.

I was running through my popular reads, and came across this article in the Omaha World herald...Enjoy

Churches dark on Christmas Day?

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
This Christmas, no prayers will be said in several megachurches around the country.
Even though the holiday this year falls on a Sunday, when churches normally host thousands for worship, pastors are canceling services, expecting low attendance on what they call a family day.
Critics within the evangelical community said they were stunned by the shutdowns.
"This is a consumer mentality at work: 'Let's not impose the church on people. Let's not make church in any way inconvenient,'" said David Wells, professor of history and systematic theology at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, a leading evangelical school in Hamilton, Mass. "I think what this does is feed into the individualism that is found throughout American culture, where everyone does their own thing."
Locally, a spot-check of Omaha churches showed that several may offer more Saturday Christmas Eve services, but are still having at least one Sunday worship service.
"I guess we know our people and know what the crowds will be," said Pastor Tom Fraley of Trinity Church Interdenominational.
Trinity will have three Christmas Eve services. Normally, they have one Saturday service and three Sunday services, Fraley said.
Christmas Eve services normally have a higher attendance than Christmas Day, he said. "I guess people vote with their feet," he said.
Other large Omaha churches offering multiple Christmas Eve services include King of Kings Lutheran Church, with six Saturday services, and one Sunday service, and Westside Church, with two Saturday services and one Christmas Day service.
Nationally, the megachurches closing on Christmas also plan multiple services in the days leading up to the holiday, including Christmas Eve. Most normally do not hold Christmas Day services, preferring instead to mark the holiday in the days and on the night before. However, Sunday worship has been a Christian practice since ancient times.
Cally Parkinson, a spokeswoman for Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington, Ill., said church leaders decided that organizing services on a Christmas Sunday would not be the most effective use of staff and volunteer resources. The last time Christmas fell on a Sunday was 1994, and only a small number of people showed up to pray, she said.
"If our target and our mission is to reach the unchurched, basically the people who don't go to church, how likely is it that they'll be going to church on Christmas morning?" she said.
***Among the other megachurches closing on Christmas Day are Southland Christian Church in Nicholasville, Ky., near Lexington, and Fellowship Church in Grapevine, Texas, outside Dallas.** North Point Community Church in Alpharetta, Ga., outside Atlanta, said on its Web site that no services will be held on Christmas Day or New Year's Day, which also falls on a Sunday. A spokesman for North Point did not respond to requests for comment.
The closings stand in stark contrast to Roman Catholic parishes, which will see some of their largest crowds of the year on Christmas, and also have a tradition of midnight Mass on Christmas Eve, and mainline Protestant congregations such as Episcopal, Methodist and Lutheran churches, where Sunday services are rarely canceled.
Cindy Willison, a spokeswoman for the evangelical Southland Christian Church, said at least 500 volunteers are needed, along with staff, to run Sunday services for the estimated 8,000 people who usually attend. She said many of the volunteers appreciate the chance to spend Christmas with their families instead of working.
"If we weren't having services at all, I would probably tend to feel that we were too accommodating to the secular viewpoint, but we're having multiple services on Saturday and an additional service Friday night," Willison said. "We believe that you worship every day of the week, not just on a weekend, and you don't have to be in a church building to worship."
World-Herald staff writer Jason Kuiper contributed to this report.

whyiTRUST...Weekend lowdown

Saturday and Sunday was my two not normal days off. I got home from working at my Martini @ 1am, slept, and awoke by 8am Saturday morning. Here is my weekend in review. I took a hike at Lake Grapevine, washed my car, met friends for breakfast, went to the bank, grocery shopping, cleaned my apt, shaved my head, and all by 3pm when my buddy Afif and Jen came to hang for the rest of the evening.
Sunday I went to church, and was on my way home when Afif called, and wanted to know what I was doing? I said, "heading home and chilling." I pull around the corner of my complex and I see this black Eclipse sitting in front of my apt, and I am wondering in my head, now why would that be there?? Afif decided after all he was not sick and did not want to stay home by himself, so of course we watched football all day & night. We did have a good time.

This weekend was the conclusion of the whyi series. Ed discussed why it is he and others have a hard time trusting others and God, because of his humanness. Trust is a God thing, and a good thing to have, and how all of us have been wired for faith, it is just a matter of trust.

whyiDOUBT... Waiting on the Stars... Herb&Ester visit FC

Yes, it is true, I waited on Steve Harvey, Michael Irving, Danny Glover, and yes last but not least Barry Switzer, he is not real popular here in the DFW. I wonder why?

Ed's message this weekend was on doubt, and how we learned that Jesus had doubts, and that it is ok to doubt. It is healthy to have some doubt to show that you are real and not fake.

Thanksgiving weekend is always a big deal at FC, they have the whole campus decorated, and it is always packed with new people visiting for the first time with their families. I invited my dad's best friend Herb and his wife Ester. We hung out all day and then went early to church for some coffee and then headed to the 5pm service. They liked it for the most part, but couldn't understand why Ed didn't give a invitation at the end. I tried to explain that most mega-church's these days, have a response time, and people just don't do or like invitations.

I have been working a lot, and hoping this month goes by quick. This time of year does not impress me that much, except for Thanksgiving weekend of 98' is when I found Christ, and also the last time I say my mom alive.

Peace

Another DALKE UPDATE w/ pictures

Here is another update and pictures from the Kevin & Jen Dalke.

Here is a note from Kevin and pictures of the house before and after. Please note: forwarded message attachedDear Friends and Family: As many of you have heard we a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. GOD has been so very faithful and unchanging. There are times we may feel like asking why. Our family has been challenged to say 'what' instead of 'why'. "What do you have for me LORD." - And he said unto me, "My grace is sufficient for you, My strength made perfect in weakness." Most gladly therefore will I glory in my infirmaties, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. ( II Corinthians 12:9) - After viewing the pictures, as long as they come through, you will see GOD's hand of mercy and know that everyone is in good health and we will persevere with GOD's help. He has used so many to encourage and support us.Love,The Dalke's

DALKE UPDATE////DALKE UPDATE

Today, my heart has been broken after I heard this news. PLEASE pray for Kevin & Jen Dalke

dimcmillen@netzero.net

More options
Nov 27 (1 day ago)

This weekend has been extremely long and emotional. I've been in close communication with Jen and went out to see the remains on Saturday along with Crystal.
First of all the Dalke's are doing really well for the most part. The girls still have lots of questions and some fear when going to sleep. When Dalia was walking through the house she said to me.. " Di Di, I don't want my house to be broken any more"- me neither I said. Josie seems pretty exicted about telling your friends about the fire and getting a new house soon. Hatti lost her hearing aides which should be covered by insurance but will take time in replacing. Please pray as she has to adjust to a classroom without them. Hatti was hoping to find some of her birthday gifts since it was in October- didn't find any.
Kev & Jen feel the comfort of the Holy Spirit as they have been surrounded by prayer by many. Thank you! They have been staying with a family that has a big house and lots of room since Thursday night. I met them last night and gave them my appreciation for taking care of my family- since I'm unable to do so in this manner. Kevin's brother, Dave and parents came down Friday night to spend some time with the family and look over the house. Kevin & Jen are amazed at the support of their church and community. It does my heart and faith good too!!!
Housing: They have a few offers for furnished homes. Unfortunately, both houses would be about 20 minutes further for Kevin's commute into Bellevue and Jen would have to drive the girls back and forth to school. They are also looking at some apartments in Griswold today... not for sure if any will work but they are hoping one will. They will need to make these decisions this week. Please pray.
Insurance: Many of you asked and yes they had insurance for the house and items in the house. Last night Crystal and I helped Jen itemize the kitchen- we were close to starting the 4th page and I'm sure we missed a few items. Crystal & I were also able to itemize the things that we had lost- not for sure whether or not they will be replaced by the insurance. Please pray for them on Monday as they will be sitting down with their insurance company to discuss all of this. Jen & Kev do feel very overwhelmed at times in making all the right decision now.

Old House: I had a lot of mixed emotions when I toured the house remains. First of all I was amazed that the exterior walls were still standing and that their was so much rumble. I figured it would of all be burnt to ashes. Secondly, I was broken hearted to see everything in such disarray. They had cleared a path in two small areas but you could barely move around because the whole house was literally on the main floor. I just can't describe it in words- It was so horific and I was thankful we had all made it out safe. It could be a different story today had this fire started late in the evening.
Jen & Kev and some friends went on Friday to see what was left. At first they are all hopefully of finding treasures among the ashes but soon realized that if you can find something that is recognizable it's usually not intact or is charred or melted etc. After a while Jen said-- why even look. They were able to pull about 20 items from the rumble this includes many of their photo albums (they may still have water damage etc) and office papers (which is amazing when you think of their location). Kev found two of Jen's rings (not her engagement ring) but they are very damaged.
Help. Many of people have asked how can they help. First of all please covet them in your prayers- continue to pray that God will go before them in every detail. Their next steps will be determined by their insurance payout. They are thankful for the offers of people wanting to give but they are not accepting any furniture at this time as they have no where to store it. A bank account has been set up in Atlantic, IA- which is so generous of the community. They have recieved a few clothing items and gift cards. If you are wanted to give please contact me further.
Thank you for loving my family and praying for all of us- It will be awhile before things will seem normal again. The Briethhaupts, the Dalke's and myself have decided that sometime in January, when things have settled down a bit, we are going to have a Thanksgiving dinner. Because we have a lot of things to be thankful for.

Love, Diane3333

I just want to thank everyone who have emailed me and called. Im sharing our love, prayer and thoughts. randall paul

Dalke's NEED PRAYER>>>please

I went to college with the Dalke's, and they need your love prayer's right now.

Please pray for Kevin & Jennifer Dalke: (my sister)
Thursday night- Kev & Jen's house caught on fire EVERYONE MADE IT OUT OKAY. Dave & Crystal Breithaupt (for those of you who know them) and myself had all been out there since Wednesday night. The upstairs fire alarm went off about 6:00 p.m. and when Kev went to see what the matter was could see smoke and flames from the chimney/attic. We all proceeded out.. thinking we would have to spend the rest of the weekend wiping down walls and airing out the house... Instead we watched the whole house quickly consumed in flames. Basically they only have the clothes on their back. Everything else was destroyed. It was so surreal.
History: Jen & Kev have been restoring a 100 year old home on about 7 acres of land about 1 hour east of Council Bluffs. They had put lots of money and lots of sweat into their home for the last three years and now everything is gone. They have a wonderful church community that I am hoping will take them under their wings. I only live in a duplex and although Kevin works in Bellevue, their school, life and friends are out there.
Please pray for them. Pray that God would provide a place for them to live that would work out best for everyone. Pray for peace during this stressful and emotional time. Pray that God would go before them and work out all the little details. Pray that their church would come and walk besides them. Pray for them as they walk through this with their girls. Amazing enough the kids (Briethaupts' too) kept themselves fairly preoccupied and it wasn't too traumatic- I'm sure that will come later. Pray as the grieve over this lost- Yes it only earthly possessions but it's still a lost of hopes, dreams, and things that can never be replaced- baby pictures, family heirlooms-
We are all rejoicing- this could of happened while we were sleeping... everyone was downstairs at the time... therefore we were all able to just put on our coats and walk outside. Please pray for all of us- as we work through these emotions and feeling very helpless for the Dalke family.
\r\nI came home tonight without my suitcase with my stuff..no blow dryer, no slippers- but I have a place to come home to. I will keep you all updated. Love, Diane

Happy TEXAS Anniversary.... Where is the Davies? Go Huskers

It has been a great ride so far, so can you believe I have been in the "Big DFW" for 3 years? Well, I can't hardly believe it, but my 3 year anniversary was yesterday at high noon, when I pulled into the DFW at Jason and Amy Hansen's house in Bedford Texas. The big celebration was the my Martini party with my new bud Afif.

I had to be at work at the Blue Mesa taco and tequila bar at 9am-till 4pm on Thanksgiving Day, but I was cut early at 130pm, and I was very cool with that. I was walking out of my store, and I literally ran into Dale Davies from Christ Community in Omaha, I caught up with them after their lunch and we chatted for two hours, it was awesome. I explained to them that it was my 3 year anniversary, and they just made my day. It was like they were a present to share with, in my 3 year Texas run.

***UPDATE on Papa*** Please pray for him and our family, he has taken a turn for the worst, as of this morning,he is not doing good. Courtney is moving slower than my dad, and she is very sore. This is the Huskers last game of the regular season against Colorado in Boulder. GO HUSKERS!!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING....A long road ahead for our family

Hoping all of my friends and family have a great Thanksgiving. I love you all and am blessed to have you apart of my life.

This week the Thompson/Wright family has hard a blow and will be a long road for this upcoming holiday season. Step-sister Courtney was in a bad car accident last Sunday, and finally got out of the hospital today. Dad was able to take her home and she will be slowly recovering this month.

Well, my dad's best friend Herb and his wife Ester made it into town. He is staying with his son and daughter in law, and they both moved from San Antino this Nov. 1, . We will be all hangingout all day Saturday and then all 4 of them will be going to Fellowship with me at the 630pm service, and Herb is really looking forward to it.

nnn The Thompson/Wright family unfortuanetly will be spending this Thanksgiving at St. John's Hospital in Springfield MO. They had to rush PaPa (Raphael's dad) into the emergency room this mid morning due to what they think is congestive heart failure. PLEASE PRAY for the Thompson/Wright Family this season.

Afif and I went to my Martini's Thanksgiving Party, and to say the least, it was very fun and lots of turkey. Good times had by all.

whyi-give... Shane & Shane @ FC

This weekend was very fun, I hung out before work both Friday and Saturday with Afif and Jen, which was nice, since I wont be working with them any longer. FC invited national recording artist Shane and Shane, it was a very toned down weekend of worship, which was nice.

Ed spoke on why i give, it was more on tithe, but tied in time and talents as well. God gives us so much, to show our love back, we need to share our wealth which is ultimately His. I start work Monday, and I am really nervous, but excited.

Oh YEA, I almost forgot, Happy Birthday MICHELLE KILDOW. love

Hangin' with the Frat rats & Sorority sisters... Another cancer story

In my endeavor to always not pass up a opportunity to encourage someone's faith, or show them my own, I try and always have that on my frontal lobe. I have been working with this kid who's mom is dying of cancer, and will not make it past this Christmas. We have went out for dinner a couple of times, hung at my house, and we were going to hang in his neck of the woods. He is a awesome person, and just a really great guy, and is really hurting over the soon loss of his mom. He asked me if I wanted to come over to hang, but he informed me, he had a surprise for me. I was not ready for this surprise. Delta, Delta, Delta can I help you Sig Ep's. We went to a fall formal after party, o h yea till 6 : 3 0 in the am. We had fun, I had fun, but I have not seen stuff like that in a long time. Boy am I old.

Under-construction-by God

Well, like I said in a previous post, it was going to be a hard holiday, and it has been a long 4 months getting to it. God decided that it is time for me to go thru a little construction in my life, and so I can't argue and you usually don't. I didn't even on this one have a chance, so for what ever reason, I am temporally unemployed with my full time job at Fridays. This one I am really upset about, and saddened by. I really wanted to still travel for them opening new stores, and travel around on their passport program, where you can go pick up a shift anywhere in the world, as long as you can speak that language, that is not happening. I belief that everything happens for a reason, and this is no mistake.

I am strong, I am a surveyor, No, is not in my vocabulary, I only settle for 1st place, and will not come in second. I did however go and get a second job,( with-in 4 hours of my dismissal) as a bartender at the blue mesa grill & tequila bar in the brand new Intl terminal D-28. This will only be temporary, or until I get fired from this one, just kidding I hope not. Peace

whyi-laugh

I am sure not laughing today, or this week. Well, I was with friends at church. We were in the last row of the middle section, next door to the main camera's, when this fat guy decided he was going to come through our row. I am normally open to letting people sit down in my row, but this time, I was not. We were already standing, the service already begun, and he slides past me. I lean back in, against my theater seat, and hold on, well I placed my right foot on the worship guide and slide, and luckily I caught myself, but still threw out my back. I couldn't breathe very well, and I grabbed on of my usher friends, to have someone help me out. I normally would be laughing at this time, but you know what, I am in pain, not laughing, and out of work for 4 days. If you were wondering Ed's message was on laughing, I didn't hear it, but I am sure it was funny. Next week it might be funny, but right now, my back side is on ice.

CONTROVERSY vs discussion? what do you like?

I found this article that someone sent me, I have been to a few focus groups around the metroplex discussing this with Christians and non, this very subject. I have been trying to give back to my community. (thanks shelly bang bang). So if your up to it, this is what I have been dealing with in my real world. As many of you know, controversy follows me and it has been doing it along time.
Here is some food for thought:
g Outreach at Gay Pride Day
Just in my last post today, I said I don't get political too much here, but this struck me as a positive development...

We've all seen the "God Hates Fags" signs that so-called Christians take to protest the homosexual lifestyle. Pastor Tim Lucas takes a different approach that was noticed this week in the NY Times. On a hot seaside afternoon, about 150 people from his small church wore light blue T-shirts bearing the name of their ministry, Liquid, and gave out free bottles of water. The title of the article:

Christians Say Hello. Gay Activists say Hmmm.

The Times piece says... "Pastor Lucas hoped that Liquid, which is part of a conservative Baptist church that considers homosexuality a sin, could take a third position, avoiding both the scolds of some evangelical Christians and the acceptance of more liberal churches. Without endorsing homosexuality, he said: "We want to dismantle the invisible hierarchy of sin that many evangelicals promote that puts gays and lesbians at the top of the list. That sense of self-righteousness and superiority runs rampant in our church like a cancer."

It continues... "For the members of Liquid, an alternative ministry within Millington Baptist Church, the event was a mission into new territory. At a final strategy meeting last week, a handwritten sign in the back of the room listed reasons for the outreach, and the first was "to challenge stereotypes of 'Christians.' "

Mr. Lucas wore spiked hair and an Amsterdam Motorcycles T-shirt. He advised the church members not to get into arguments or try to convert anybody. "We're not going there to hand out tracts," he said. "These people have been marginalized and hurt, often by us.

"If they say, 'What are you doing here?' keep it simple. Just say, 'We're here to show you God's love.' "

Alternatively, Mr. Lucas said, they might draw criticism from other conservative Christians, including members of their parent church, which was not invited to participate. "People might say, 'So you think I have to change so God will love me?' " he said. "Or they'll say, 'So you're a gay church, huh. Baptists are coming around to gay marriage?' You just say to them, 'No, I'm just here to serve.' "

If all went well, he said, "we'll earn the wrath and condemnation of religious folks, and find more people on the fringe, much like it was for Jesus."

Seems like a balanced approach to me, and a good start. I think Jesus would treat homosexuals with respect, just as members of "Liquid" did. Jesus loves each of them as much as he loves you or me. You've often heard it said that you need to love the sinner and hate the sin... I think this is a great way to start the dialouge. Who knows if any progress was made; but nothing was hurt.

FOR DISCUSSION: Has your church done any outreach to groups like homosexuals? How was it received? How did it effect your church? g Taken from Monday Morning Insights June 2005

Love ya lots, and get ready cause Christmas is just around the corner. Fellowship Church.com's Christmas Extravaganza is coming up, dates soon.

Making Waves....Who wants to be a Gideon???

After the big Texas election, the discussion has been the talk of the town, about same sex marriages being legal or should not be legal. I have been slowly changing the way I relate into a discussing to now more of a debate, and well, let's just say, there has been some heated discussions. At Fridays there are a lot of so called Christians at my store B-10 and they are not for that amendment, it has been many long discussions, and it has been some good times. At my martini, just two Christians and very liberal views on the subject.

I found out that my dad became a Gideon, and every time he is on vacation, he checks to make sure that there is a bible in his hotel/motel room. His new best friend Herb introduced him to it, and he really loves it. Herb is planning on coming down for Thanksgiving to visit his son, and hopefully we will be able to hangout, and I think Dad and his wife Rapahel are coming down the week of Christmas, and hopefully they will be able to experience a Fellowship Christmas service that is always like no other.

ELECTIONS COME...elections go??

This Tuesday marked history for the state of Texas, and I hope for along time. The state voted by a wide margin "FOR" Same Sex Marriages to remain with one man and one woman, which can be good and bad. It is a touche' subject, and I am not really ready to make my plea, but it is hard for me to be against the idea, that your love for someone has to be a law/rule. It really comes down to once again "the Freedom" that everybody thinks we have, but rarely realize that we are losing it in a lot of everyday situation- like this one. I rest my case.

Well, my buddy Afif and I have been hanging tight since June had a great week of his Muslim Christmas and birthday. Something that is really funny is that we have been noticing that every time we go out, we never EVER get good service at a restaurant. On his birthday we waited 15 minutes for them to come clean off our table, that the host told us to go sit at in the bar, and then another 15 minutes to even get a manger to come and say hello. At least us 3 had good company, not a good birthday experience. Good thing he is so easy going, and care free.

whyiLIVE...

This weekend was a exceptional at FC. This series is looking deep into Ed's own life as he is always asking God whyi?. He stated that he would be sharing things in his own life, that no one else knows and is really just being real, open, and honest in more of a sit down on the couch and let's chat type of each installment. I have decided I am going to do that as well, only for myself and God first, and well you can see whyi--click too. Let's GO

whyiLive- because I belong to God, was created by Him. I try to let go of myself, and transpose my sinful nature into His shadow, to love, to reveal my faith in the most humanly way possible. I live to try and grasp what it means to be a man, and friend like my father. I live because right now, God wants me here. I live to share my life journey with some, who might need encouragement, and I don't even have to say a thing. I live because my friends have helped mold me into the person I am, and for my bestees', I only look to you to continue to complete my sphere of what you stand for, that I can learn from. I live that others can see that I have come along way, and my road still continues on, hopefully my influence as well, even when God chooses to take my home.

WHYiLIVE-for my faith, my hope, my love peace

New 4 YOU... whyi??? A week of fun?!

I have decided since usually so many people respond to my web page, I am going to respond to you. So as of Nov 1, 2005 I am responding to all of your comments on the "comments page", so m you better check it out. You wanted to know, go get em'.

This weekend at FC we are kicking off a new one. In our frenzied rush through life, we rarely slow down long enough to ask ourselves why we do what we do. In this series, Senior Pastor Ed Young takes time to do just that. Ed, a self-proclaimed why guy, opens up his life to give us an insiders look at why he does what he does. And over the next several weeks, we'll discover that the amazing life God has in store for us is often one question away.

Afif, my Muslim buddy is living high on the hog this week. Wednesday was the end of Ramadan, and this Monday is his birthday, and when we get back from church, we will be celebrating. Of course the party will be at my pad, since "your pad rocks dude, let's have the party here." Fine by me.

Christmas with his best friend....Don't beat around the bush. Please...

In my buddy's Muslim faith, Ramadan is now over, and it is "Christmas for us buddy" which he celebrated with his mom and sister, and me tonight. We just got back from Abuelos (where I use to work), and now are hitting the peace pipe, and the cigar is nice, I must admit also. Going to take a walk and enjoy the nice cool 70" weather. GetR don".

It has been along week, and it seems like it is getting longer by the hour. Halloween night was fine, nothing too exciting. Today is the start of a 7 day warm front, and tonight KK gets back from her trip to Vegas. I can't wait to see her. This is the 3rd time she has went and I cant wait for my 3rd gift. I have a friend who has been promising me something for a while now, and it is just driving me nuts. If you don't want to give it to me, than don't keep saying you will. That is what has been driving me nuts this whole week. Mean what you say, and say what you mean. PLEASE.

We have a new manager working at B-10, and she is Mrs. Razor, I am best friends with her daughter. Since she is here, she is the mom of the store, everybody lovers her and she is so sweet, she brought so much Halloween candy last weekend, that it was crazy. I missed First Wednesday at FC this week and it has been awhile since I have been to one of those in many many months. However I cant wait, this weekend Ed is starting a new series whyi. Cant wait for that. Well I better go, I feel I like I am just babbling, and to be frankly honest, I am, and don't ever call me frank.
Peace I am out.
