The Best birthday ever...

just not to thrilled about turning 35. Thursday May 1st at 2pm I picked up my best friend Matthew Smith at Midway Airport, and headed back to my place to dump off his stuff. We had a quick couple of killer margaritas at Caesars in boys town. We had a really good deep talk while waiting for our other good friend Geoffrey Carlson. Checked out his new place a nice dinner and the rest is history. It was probably one of the biggest weekends, Tom, Kate, & baby Surri were in town taping with Oprah, the Kentucky derby & Cinco De Mayo was on this exact same weekend. I enjoyed tons of singing phone calls, emails, presents from my Starbucks gang and of course everybody else closest to me. Last but not least, Ellen DeGeneres was in town taping her first ever in the Windy City. Getting to see her up close was a dream come true.
At the Willow Creek, this past weekend I had a real God moment where He confirmed to me that I was in the right city and place in time in my life. The president of the WillowCreekAssociation.com was the guest speaker and he told us of his miraculous past summer vacation where him and his son were almost killed in Ba ha California. The miracle when they got "RESCUED" was the theme of the weekend service. God has definitely confirmed to me in that service that, He RESCUED me and brought to a much better time in my life, now living in Chicago, which I really love.
